Characters Tutorial
1. Introduction
You can now use the models on Deep Realms to chat with characters via the SillyTavern app!
2. What is SillyTavern?
SillyTavern is a user interface that you can install on your computer (and Android phones) that lets you talk and role-play with characters created by you or others, using text-based AI. You can find out more about SillyTavern on the official SillyTavern website.
3. How to connect SillyTavern to the Deep Realms API?
3.1.
Open SillyTavern and click on the plug icon (second icon from the left-hand side), which will open the "API
Connections" page.
3.2.
Select the "Chat Completion" API and "Custom (OpenAI-compatible)" as the Chat Completion Source.
3.3.
Paste in "https://www.deeprealms.io/api/v1" into the "Custom Endpoint (Base URL)" textbox.
3.4.
Paste in your Deep Realms API key into the "Custom API Key" textbox. If you have an account on Deep Realms,
you can find your API key on the profile page. Creating an account on Deep Realms is free and each account comes
with some starter credits.
3.5.
Click "Connect" and you should now be able to see the list of available models in the "Available Models"
dropdown.
3.6.
(Optional) If you want to enable higher quality outputs, at the cost of a bit slower text generation speed,
click on "Additional Parameters" and paste in the following text:
- enhance_output: true into the "Include Body Parameters" textbox.NOTE: Even when model responses are streamed, if enhanced outputs are turned on, it might take a while (5-20 seconds) before the generated text begins to appear in the SillyTavern chat.

** Using enhanced outputs (setting the "enhance_output" parameter to true) will increase the price per token by 10%.
